You will also shadow experienced District Construction managers and employees to familiarize yourself with other internal District work units and illustrate how you fit in the overall production process.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who plans to pursue a career in the transportation engineering field. The preferred candidate will work on real-life projects in addition to being rotated throughout the District Construction office while gaining experience in the following areas: Administration, CEI, Compliance, Contracts, Environmental, Final Estimates, Plans Review, Quality Assurance, and Systems/Training.
You will be introduced to CTQP, Primavera, and ProjectSolve and given basic tasks that would develop his/her construction management skills.
You will perform the following tasks:
· Assist with contract administration, construction field inspection, and various engineering activities.
· Assist with contract interpretation and practical application (including review of plans, specifications, standards, etc.),
· Assist with Construction Engineering and Inspection and Design Build Construction
· Assist with reviewing design plans and specifications for constructability
· Provide assistance with the development of monthly and final estimate pay quantities and prepare computation books for final estimate submission.
Intern will gain hands-on experience in the following:
· Construction Administration
· Construction Management

- Criteria

Students in Civil Engineering, Transportation, Construction, or related Majors.
You should also possess the following:
